Yadgir: Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar has denied permission to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to hold a guard of honour on the streets of Gurmathkal on Saturday afternoon.
This is the second such instance of refusal of permission to the RSS for a guard of honour, after the Kalaburagi district administration rejected an RSS application to hold the event in Chittapur on October 19.
Yadgir DC Bhoyar has cited lack of enough time between submission of the application and the date of the event as the reason for denial of permission.
“It is mandatory for an applicant to seek for permission in writing at least three days before an event is held on government premises and public places, but the RSS has failed to follow this rule,” the officer clarified.
Yadgir District Chief Convener of the RSS Basappa Sanjanol reportedly handed Gurmatkal Tahsildar Shantagowda Biradar the application for permission to hold the guard of honour on October 21. The tahsildar told Sanjanol to take permission from the concerned authority. The chief convener requested permission from the district administration on October 23, but the application was rejected as it was submitted too late.
