Bengaluru: BJP rebel Basanagouda Patil Yatnal led camp will head to New Delhi on Tuesday, February 4 to reportedly file a complaint against former Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa and his son BY Vijayendra, who is the President of BJP’s state unit.
Speaking to press persons here on Monday, Yatnal stated, “does BJP need a corrupt family? Or do they need honest and loyal workers? We will question the seniors.” Our demand is that family politics should end in Karnataka BJP.”
“Our demand is to hand over the state BJP leadership to the right people,” he said, stating that he was confident about the high command listening to his demand.
“The higher-ups are convinced that if Vijayendra continues as the state unit president, the BJP will not survive in the state. Therefore, a change in the state president is certain,” he added.
He also alleged an undisclosed political understanding between the Yediyurappa family and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. “Despite repeated attacks from Shivakumar, Vijayendra remains silent. Even when Shivakumar claims that Vijayendra’s MLA seat is an ‘alms’ given by him, there is no response,” Yatnal said, sharply criticizing the BJP leadership’s alleged compromise with the ruling Congress government in the state.
