Shivamogga, May 5: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that BJP chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa who has been telling that he would take oath as the CM, is really an insane.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Siddaramaiah said that BJP manifesto is a bundle of lies. Loan waiver is just a political gimmick. Why didn’t they waive of the loans when they were in power. Let them disclose about their contribution to the farmers. There is no value to the words of Yeddyurappa who had been to jail on corruption charges. The people are intelligent and they would not accept Yeddyurappa. Even now, they were in power at the centre and they have not waived of the loan which means, they have failed in fulfilling their promises. Being a prime minister, Narendra Modi has completely failed, he said.
Really, Yeddyurappa who has been telling that he would take oath as the CM is an insane. His Mission-150 has come down to just 50. Yeddyurappa is facing total 23 cases and how could people accept a tainted person as CM candidate. In spite of repeated visit of Modi, people of Karnataka would not accept Yeddyurappa. “I am a secular man. I would love the people of all communities, castes and religions. BJP leaders do not have the moral right to question me. For the last five years, I have worked without any discrimination. It is the work of BJP to divide the society on the basis of deaths, religions, castes”, he said.
Out of 224 candidates, the BJP has not given a single ticket to either a Muslim or a Christian. What moral right do the BJP leaders have to point towards Siddaramaiah, he asked.
Responding to the Modi’s comment on Bengaluru as number one crime city, the CM said that Karnataka has emerged number -1 in investment. Would anybody come to Bengaluru to make investment if it is a crime city? Karnataka is in the first position for the last two years in investment. Law and order is good in the state. Being a prime minister, Modi should speak responsibly. If the dalits, backward classes, farmers, minorities were facing problem, it was because of Modi government, he said.
Both Yeddyurappa and KS Eshwarappa are outsiders to Shivamogga district. One is from Bookanakere and another one is from Ballary. The Congress was getting good response in the district including Shikaripu. Yeddyurappa would definitely bite the dust in Shikaripur. Both Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa would taste the defeat. Already, people have decided to keep the communal away from power, he said appealing the people not to vote communal party.
Shivamogga urban candidate K B Prasanna Kumar, MLC R Prasanna Kumar were present.
