Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday greeted the Muslim brethren on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which is being celebrated in a subdued manner due to coronavirus related restrictions.

As domestic air travel resumed on Monday after nearly two months of COVID-19 induced lockdown, the city's Kempegowda International Airport will see nearly 107 flights departing and about hundred arrivals, as it begins operations.

 A week-long institutional quarantine will have to be undergone by paassengers arriving by domestic flights in Karnataka from seven particular states, including Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu, where COVID-19 cases are high, the state government has said.

COVID-19 cases in Karnataka breached the 2,000 mark on Sunday with the detection of 97 cases, most of them returnees to the state from Maharashtra, the health department said.

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Saturday reported a whopping 196 number of new cases of deadly Corona Virus on Saturday, according to the latest health bulletin issued by Health and Family Welfare Department on Saturday afternoon.

 The Karnataka government on Friday said returnees from six states with high COVID-19 caseload -- Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh -- will be kept in institutional quarantine for seven days.

Bengaluru: City Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao has said that, following the relaxation of the Corona lockdown, curfew has been imposed on the city from 7 pm on Saturday till 7 am on Monday.
