Special investigation team (SIT) on Wednesday, Sep. 5 stated that the investigation of the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh is in final stage and a chargesheet will be filed within two months.

“Both RSS and BJP have seen bankruptcy in their ideologies. So, instead of sorting out their ideological problems through dialogues, they have been opposing their opponents through guns and bullets”, senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu said.  

“One year has gone after my birth in Gauri. I am walking as if a new-born baby which has all pain, injustice and frustration, tells me to do so”, said noted actor and director Prakash Rai.

Human rights activist Swami Agnivesh said that “if the people who are raising their voice in favour of the oppressed classes are branded as ‘urban naxals’, then we are ready to become naxals”.

Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that the central government was taking the credits for the programmes implemented from the state government funds which will be restructured soon.

 Cartoonist P Mahamud was awarded the first PEN-Gauri Lankesh Award for Democratic Idealism today in Bengaluru on the first anniversary of journalist Gauri Lankesh's assassination. The prize money for the award is one lakh rupees.
