Bengaluru: All our MLAs are with us. Only two were not physically present and they are also coming with us today, Former Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy said.

Congress leaders and thousands of party workers took out a Raj Bhavan chalo protest here on Friday alleging that Governor Vajubhai Vala has invited the BJP to form the government which is unconstitutional and against the democratic values.

The Congress has expressed its strong exception against the Governor for appointing KG Bhopaiah as the Pro tem Speaker of the Assembly. As per the tradition, senior most MLA should be appointed as the Pro tem Speaker. But neglecting senior most MLA RV Deshapande, the Governor has appointed three-time winner KG Bhopaiah. It is not fair to neglect Deshapande, said senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singvi.

Amidst the strategies of Congress-JDS and BJP to get the power in the state, an audio clip, said to be in the voice of Janardhan Reddy, offering position and money to Congress MLA Basana Gouda, has gone viral in the social media.

As degraded the democracy through its deceptive politics across the state, the BJP has misused the EVMs even in Tarikere constituency and won the election, defeated candidate TH Shivashankarappa made a serious allegation.

Close on the heels of appointing KG Bhopaiah of BJP as Pro tem Speaker for the floor test, rumors are doing the rounds on the future of the JDS rebel MLAs. It is being discussed in the political circle that the BJP is trying to stop some JDS and Congress MLAs from exercising their votes through Bhopaiah.

“Even I am also curious about the process of floor test in the Assembly being conducted by Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on May 19,” said former prime minister and JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda.

 “As per the direction of the Supreme Court, I have the confidence that hundred per cent I would prove the majority on the floor of the House”, said Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa.
