A 24-year-old worker from Uttara Kannada district was allegedly attacked with lethal weapons and killed at a building under construction in Silver Town in Hubballi city, while the suspects in the incident are absconding.

Three people on bikes were killed on the spot as their motorbikes collided head-on near the HP petrol bunk in Mangalawada village of the taluk on Tuesday night.

The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee's direction to Karnataka to release water to Tamil Nadu will be challenged before the Supreme Court, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday dismissed a public interest litigation that challenged the depiction of photos of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and the ministers concerned on the orders issued on the State Government's Gruha Jyothi and Gruha Lakshmi guarantee schemes.

The Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted the possibility of good rainfall over the Coastal and Interior Districts of the state on September 27 and 28.
