Mumbai: Twitter users on Wednesday afternoon called out on Arjun Kapoor, labeling him as a “product of nepotism” after reports went viral claiming that late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was the original cast for the movie ‘Half Girlfriend’ alongside Shradha Kapoor but it was later handed to Arjun Kapoor.

Topic ‘Arjun Kapoor’ was top-trending on twitter India on Wednesday afternoon, garnering nearly 11k tweets at 4:30 pm. Another topic ‘Half Girlfriend’ was among the top-five trending topics on the micro-blogging site with nearly 8k views.

The topic took pace after users dig into the account of noted author Chetan Bhagat and found a tweet wherein he had announced Sushant Singh Rajput’s featuring in the movie ‘Half Girlfriend’ based on one of the books written by him. He had also shared a link of Times of India which had covered the story then. The movie however went to Arjun Kapoor as the lead actor.

Irked by this, the twitter army expressed its anger and dissent and added to the outrage surrounding Nepotism in Bollywood which has been the talk of the town ever since Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14.

Bengaluru: Actor Prakash Raj on Tuesday clarified that a photo of him taking a holy dip at the Maha Kumbh Mela, which is doing rounds across social media platforms, was fake. The multilingual actor has filed a police complaint against the miscreants in this regard.

The digitally manipulated image was posted by an account named Prashant Sambaragi, captioned: "Actor Prakash Raj at the Kumbh Mela. He bathed in the Triveni Sangam. Let's hope that his sins are washed away." The image also bizarrely showed the actor’s hand blending into an artificial design, suggesting the use of AI editing.

Taking to ‘X,’ actor Prakash Raj clarified that it was fake news. He stated, "Fake news. The job of the cowardly army of the 'False King' is to spread fake news and defile even their holy worship. A police complaint has been filed. Let's see what they do in the courtroom."
