Ahmedabad, Feb 9: Invited to bat, India scored 237 for nine against the West Indies in the second One-day International, here on Wednesday.

Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for the hosts with his 64-run knock while vice captain KL Rahul missed his half-century by one run after being run out.

Deepak Hooda, who made his ODI debut in the previous match, scored 29 while all-rounder Washington Sundar contributed 24.

For the West Indies, Alzarri Joseph (2/29) and Odean Smith (2/36) took two wickets each.

India are leading the three-match series 1-0.

Bidar: A 22-year-old rider, Mahesh, died on the spot while another was grievously injured in a head-on collision between motorbikes near Basava Nagar in Bhalki taluk on Saturday night.

The deceased, Mahesh, was a resident of Kuntesirsi village in Bhalki taluk. The second rider, Vivekananda (36), who is a resident of Navadgi village, is being treated at a hospital in Bidar.

Mahesh was reportedly riding from Bhalki to Kuntesirsi when his bike collided head-on with Vivekananda’s bike. Mahesh died on the spot due to the intensity of the collision.

A case has been registered at the Bhalki Town Police Station and the officers are probing the incident.
