Dehradun, Feb 23: Afghanistan set an international record T20 total as they notched 278-3 and won by 84 runs, with this they seal the series by a margin of 2-0.

Today’s Afghan innings break the record of 263-3 set by Australia against Sri Lanka in 2016.

Afghan’s opening batsman’s Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani put a partnership of 236-run and ended their innings on 278/3, beating the record for highest T20I score by a team.

In reply, Ireland scored 194/6 but fell short by quite a big margin. Paul Stirling’s 91 was the only stand out innings.

Hazratullah Zazai finished on 167 off 62 balls not out, his innings included an international T20 record of 16 sixes as his century came off only 42 balls.

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.

Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.

 

Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
