Kazan, June 30: France pipped Argentina 4-3 to enter the quarter-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup here on Saturday.
Kylian Mbappé (64th, 68th minutes) scored a brace and won a penalty while Antoine Griezmann (13th minute) and Benjamin Pavard (57th minute) were the other scorers for France.
Ángel Di María (41st minute), Gabriel Mercado (48th minute) and Sergio Agüero (90+3rd minute) found the back of the net for Argentina.

Explosion heard over Dubai airport followed by cloud of smoke
Dubai: An explosion was heard over Dubai International Airport on Saturday, followed by a cloud of smoke in the air, according to a witness who spoke to AFP, as Iran continued attacks across the Gulf region.
The flight-tracking website Flightradar24 showed several aircraft circling above the airport in what appeared to be a holding pattern.
Meanwhile, the Dubai Media Office said in a post on X that there had been “a minor incident resulting from the fall of debris after an interception.”
In the same post, authorities also denied reports circulating online about a direct strike on the airport.
Further details about the incident were not immediately available.
