Player's followers surpass his nation's population in 2 days
Russia, June 20: Iceland footballer Rurik Gíslason, who had around 30,000 Instagram followers before his World Cup appearance, saw his following surpass his country's 330,000-strong population after being subbed in against Argentina on Saturday.
Argentinian actress Gimena Accardi also noted to her audience that over 40,000 of her fans had followed Gíslason's account, which has now amassed over 621,000 followers.

EC to announce assembly poll dates for four states, one UT this evening
New Delhi (PTI): The Election Commission will announce dates for assembly polls in Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and Puducherry on Sunday evening.
The poll authority has convened a press conference at 4 pm to announce the schedule.
The terms of these legislative assemblies are ending on different dates in May and June.
Final electoral rolls of the four states and the Union territory of Puducherry have been published as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voters' list.
