India cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy bereaved, mother dies due to COVID-19
New Delhi, Apr 24: Female India cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy's mother, Cheluvamba Devi, has died due to COVID-19.
The Bengaluru-based cricketer tweeted about her mother's demise on Saturday.
"Appreciate all the messages I have received about the loss of my Amma. As you can imagine my family is lost without her. We now pray for my sister. I have tested negative & appreciate if you can respect our privacy. My thoughts & prayers go out to those going through the same!," Veda wrote.
Veda has represented India in 48 ODIs and 76 T20s.

India women register 435/5, their highest ODI total
Rajkot(PTI): Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal scored a century each to power India to their highest-ever total of 435/5 in the third and final women's ODI against Ireland here on Wednesday.
Mandhana (135) and Rawal (154) shared a whopping 233-run stand to give a solid start to India after opting to bat.
The big-hitting Richa Ghosh then scored a quickfire 59 to further inflate India's total as the Irish bowlers struggled to find answers.
Medium pacer Orla Prendergast (2/71) was the most susccesfull bowler for the visitors with two wickets.
