Australian all-rounder Cameron Green expressed his delight at joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after moving from the Mumbai Indians (MI) in a significant INR 17.5 crore all-cash deal.
In a video posted by RCB on its social media handles, the 24-year-old shared his excitement about working with Bangalore's head coach, Andy Flower. Notably, Flower also serves as the coach for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise St Lucia Kings.
"Hey RCB fans, Cameron Green here. I just want to say how excited I am to be joining Andy Flower in the team. I can’t wait to see you guys soon at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Cheers!" Green conveyed in the video.
During his stint with MI, Green showcased impressive performances, amassing 452 runs in 16 matches at an average of 50.22, which included one century and two fifties in the IPL 2023. He also contributed with the ball, taking six wickets. Green was released from the MI squad to accommodate the return of Hardik Pandya, who rejoined Mumbai in a trade deal worth INR 15 crore from the Gujarat Titans.
In a statement, MI bid farewell to Green, stating:
“Goodbyes are never easy. But with a heavy heart, we, the MI Paltan, thank Cameron Green for all the wonderful memories he gave us in the Blue and Gold through the 2023 IPL. He has been traded from Mumbai Indians to Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the 2024 Auction.”
Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, RCB retained 20 players, including two transfer deals – Cameron Green and Mayank Dagar. The franchise released 11 players and traded out Shahbaz Ahmed. With an INR 23.25 crore purse, RCB is set to fill their remaining slots during the auction.

New Delhi (PTI): President Droupadi Murmu on Friday departed for Vatican City to attend the funeral of Pope Francis later this week.
She is accompanied by Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju; Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, George Kurian; and Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Joshua De Souza, her office said in a post on X.
Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Vatican City and offer condolences on behalf of the government and people of India.
"President Droupadi Murmu departs for Vatican City to attend the State Funeral of HH Pope Francis," read the post from the President's secretariat.
Francis, who was the first non-European Pope in nearly 1,300 years, died on Easter Monday. He was 88.
Murmu will pay homage to Pope Francis by laying a wreath at Basilica of Saint Peter in Vatican City on Friday.
"On April 26, the president will attend the funeral Mass of His Holiness Pope Francis at Saint Peter's Square in Vatican City, which will be attended by dignitaries from around the world," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.
India declared a three-day state mourning on the passing of Pope Francis.
