Ranji Trophy : Manish Pandey, Karun Nair seal Karnataka's semifinal spot
Bengaluru : Entering Day 4 of the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka needed 139 runs to win. The hosts lost a wicket early on and it brought out Manish Pandey into the middle. The skipper took a little while to get settled in and when he did, he played a superb knock to power Karnataka home – hitting 14 runs in five balls to chase down the 184 run target.
Karun Nair dutifully held fort at the other to remain unbeaten on 61 runs. Their 128 run win moved Karnataka into the semifinals where they face the winner of UP vs Saurashtra.

Minor girl kidnapped and raped; main accused and two cafe owners held
Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
