New Delhi: Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has lambasted the BCCI and the selectors for the Indian Test team for sidelining Sarfaraz Khan, the highly prolific batsman from the Mumbai team, during the selection for the team.

Calling the exclusion of Khan as ‘unfair’, Prasad has also said that it was an abuse of domestic cricket, in his post on Twitter, reports Times of India.

“Not having him in the Test Team despite 3 blockbuster domestic seasons is not only unfair on Sarfaraz Khan, but it’s an abuse to domestic cricket, almost as if this platform doesn’t matter. And he is FIT to score those runs. As far as body weight goes, there are many with more kgs,” Prasad, who is also a former bowling coach for India, has tweeted.

The 25-year-old Khan has scored 3,500 runs in 37 first-class games and is seen to be in-form currently. On Tuesday, he scored a century 125 off 155 deliveries against the Delhi Ranji team in Delhi.

This is the batsman’s 13th century in first class cricket. The last two Ranji Trophy seasons have witnessed Khan amassing 1,910 runs in barely 12 games, with an average of 136.42.
