Mysuru: Police arrested four men on Monday for allegedly transporting and attempting to sell MDMA, a synthetic drug commonly known as Ecstasy, in the city.
According to a report published by India Today, the accused have been identified as Zia Ullah (29) of Gausia Nagar, Suhel Pasha (19), Javed Ahmed (46) of Lashkar Mohalla in Pulakeshi Nagar, and Nuhaid Khan of Padarayanapura in Bengaluru.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) intercepted a car on Mysuru's Umarkhayam Road on February 23.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly seized nearly 103 grams of MDMA, estimated to be worth around Rs 10.40 lakh.
The team also confiscated the four-wheeler, valued at Rs 8 lakh, and five mobile phones suspected to have been used in the illegal activity.
The accused, along with the seized property, have been handed over to Mandi Police Station. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
