Israel's foreign minister says UN chief Antonio Guterres will not be allowed to enter the country
Deir Al-Balah (Gaza Strip), Oct 2: Israel's foreign minister said Wednesday that he was barring the United Nations secretary-general from entering Israel, accusing him of being biased against the country.
Foreign Minister Israel Katz said he was declaring Antonio Guterres “persona non grata” and said he would be prevented from entering Israel.
The move deepens an already wide rift between Israel and the United Nations.

Special trains announced for coastal travelers during Dasara festival
Mangaluru 2-October-2024: MP Kota Srinivas Poojary has officially announced the start of special trains from Bengaluru to coastal districts, which is a huge relief for travelers who struggle to get tickets during the Dasara festival season. The decision was made in response to the rise in demand for travel to places like Karwar, Udupi, Mangaluru, and Kundapura.
After MP Poojary’s intervention, the South Western Railway announced special services to ease the holiday rush. These trains will operate on October 10 and 12 to facilitate the movement of passengers during the Navaratri festival.
Ganesh Puthran, a representative from the Kundapura Railway Protection Committee, had raised concerns over the unavailability of bus and train tickets and the surge in bus fares. In response, MP Poojary urged the railway authorities to introduce special trains for the festive period. He shared the announcement on social media, confirming the schedule.
Train Schedule:
October 10: Special Train No. 06569 will depart Yeshwantpur at 12:30 AM, reaching Udupi at 11:30 AM and Karwar by 4:00 PM.
October 11: The return train (No. 06570) will leave Karwar at 11:30 PM, arriving at Kundapura by 2:00 AM, Udupi by 2:40 AM, and Yeshwantpur by 1:00 PM the next day. It will reach Mysuru by 4:40 PM on Saturday.
October 12: Special Train No. 06585 will leave Mysuru at 9:20 PM, stopping at Majestic at 12:20 AM and Yeshwantpur at 12:40 AM, and arriving in Udupi by 11:30 AM and Karwar by 4:00 PM on Sunday.
October 13: The return train (No. 06586) will depart Karwar at 11:30 PM, reaching Udupi at 2:40 AM and Yeshwantpur by 1:00 PM, before arriving in Mysuru by 4:40 PM.
