Morocco’s World Cup victory over Belgium sparks riots in Brussels
Brussels: Following Morocco’s World Cup victory over Belgium at Qatar on Sunday, riots broke out in Brussels and several places across the country’s capital. Many soccer fans, including some draped in Moroccan flags, clashed with the Belgian riot police, resulting in dozens of people being detained and one arrest.
During the riots, a car and some electric scooters were set on fire while the riot police unleashed water cannons and tear gas to quell the impassioned soccer crowd.
"The rioters used pyrotechnic material, projectiles, and sticks, and set fire to the public highway. Also, a journalist was injured in the face by fireworks. It is for these reasons that it was decided to proceed with a police intervention, with the deployment of water cannon and the use of tear gas," the police said.
The police spokesperson Ilse Van de Keere updated that the situation was brought under control by 7 pm, with peace returning to the affected regions. "Preventive patrols remain in place in the sectors concerned," he informed.

Delhi Police registers case in connection with doctored videos of Home Minister Amit Shah
New Delhi, Apr 28: The Delhi Police registered a case on Sunday after a complaint by the Ministry of Home Affairs in connection with the doctored videos of Union Home Minister Amit Shah being circulated on social media platforms, officials said.
The Special Cell has registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC and relevant provision of the IT Act, they said. Sources in the Special Cell said that now arrests are likely to follow across the country.
According to the complaint filed by Sinku Sharan Singh, DC, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), some doctored videos are being circulated on social media with "the intent of creating disharmony among communities which is likely to affect public tranquility and public order."
According to the complainant, links from which the videos were shared were also attached for further action.
A copy of the FIR was also sent to the IFSO unit of the Delhi Cyber Police.
