Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump late Saturday night amplified a bizarre conspiracy theory on Truth Social, claiming that former US President Joe Biden was "executed" in 2020 and replaced by a clone.
The 78-year-old Republican reposted content originally shared by a supporter, which read: “There is no #JoeBiden – executed in 2020. #Biden clones doubles & robotic engineered soulless mindless entities are what you see. Democrats don't know the difference.”
Trump added no caption or clarification to the post, leaving observers stunned by his tacit endorsement of such an outlandish theory.
This development comes just a day after Trump criticized Biden, calling him a “somewhat vicious person,” and urged people not to feel sorry for the ailing Democrat. “If you feel sorry for him, don’t feel sorry for him, because he’s vicious,” Trump said during a recent appearance.
Former President Biden, 82, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. He confirmed the diagnosis during a press conference at the White House on Friday, saying: “The expectation is we’re gonna be able to beat this. I’m feeling good.”
The former President had reported urinary symptoms last month, which led to the discovery of a nodule on his prostate. According to official statements, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, making it more manageable through treatment.
Biden addressed the public via social media for the first time since his diagnosis, posting a photo with former First Lady Jill Biden. His caption read: “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”
