Lebanon: Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi group launched attacks on six ships across three different seas, including the Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier Laax, which sustained damage following a missile strike off the Yemeni coast.

In a televised address, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree disclosed the targets: the Morea and Sealady in the Red Sea, the Alba and Maersk Hartford in the Arabian Sea, and the Minerva Antonia in the Mediterranean. These attacks come amidst the group's repeated drone and missile strikes in the region since November, purportedly in solidarity with Palestinians amid the Israel-Gaza conflict.

Despite sustaining damage from five missiles, the Laax, transporting grain, managed to continue its journey safely, as confirmed by its security company, LSS-SAPU. The vessel, en route to Bandar Imam Khomeini in Iran, remained stable without casualties or water ingress.

The Houthi campaign, aiming to disrupt maritime traffic, has already claimed the Rubymar and seized another vessel, resulting in casualties and logistical challenges for global shipping. Vessels with ties to the United States and the United Kingdom have been identified as potential targets, further complicating navigation in the region.
