Horrific accident kills five, injured three in Mandya
Mandya: At least five people died and three sustained critical injuries in a horrific road accident between Tempo and Tata Sumo in Nagamandala Taluk near Doddajataka Gate here on late Thursday night.
According to reports the Tata Sumo was heading towards Belluru Cross from Nagamandala when it collided head-on with the tempo.
Four passengers travelling on Tata Sumo died on the spot and the one person sustained injuries who later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Three others including Tempo driver have been critically injured and were rushed to hospital immediately after the incident.
Belluru Police reached the spot and registered a case in this regard.

Actor Prakash Raj casts his vote, encourages voter participation in B'luru during LS polls 2024
Bengaluru: Actor Prakash Raj exercised his right to vote during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 by visiting his polling booth in Bengaluru on April 26. He took to social media to share a video urging fans and followers to also participate in the democratic process.
In the video, he is speaking about voting for change and against hate, expressing his belief in choosing a representative who would voice the concerns of the people in the parliament.
Prakash Raj, known for his work in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada films, further elaborated on the significance of voting in an interview with the media. He also spoke on the importance of selecting a candidate based on their manifesto and one's belief in them, particularly in light of the divisive politics witnessed in recent years.
