Sri Lankan Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena on Thursday informed Gotabaya Rajapaksa that he should submit his letter of resignation as the President as soon as possible or else he will consider other options to remove him from the office, according to a media report.

 In a collision between a car and an auto-rickshaw that occurred on Wednesday night, three passengers in the auto-rickshaw reportedly passed away near the Kanigal Gate on the outskirts of Malavalli Town. The two people in the car are said to have sustained grievous injuries in this accident. 

Ayyub Khan, the husband of Nazima, who was the former corporator of the K.R Market ward in the Chamarajapete constituency, reportedly passed away due to grievous stab injuries on early Thursday morning. Ayyub Khan had been stabbed by his brother’s son and was receiving treatment for his injuries at the hospital. However, he died on Thursday morning after the treatments proved to be ineffective.
