SC refuses to list for urgent hearing PIL seeking common dress code in educational institutes

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to accord urgent hearing to a PIL which seeks a direction to the Centre and states to implement a common dress code for staffers and students in registered educational institutions for securing equality and promoting fraternity and national integration.


Brahmavar: Child dies after falling into a water pit

A child reportedly fell into a pit filled with water and died of suffocation near Uppuru at K.G Road. The deceased child has been identified as Lauren Lavis (5), son of Norman and Sylvia, it is learned.

Ayyub Khan, the husband of Nazima, who was the former corporator of the K.R Market ward in the Chamarajapete constituency, reportedly passed away due to grievous stab injuries on early Thursday morning. Ayyub Khan had been stabbed by his brother’s son and was receiving treatment for his injuries at the hospital. However, he died on Thursday morning after the treatments proved to be ineffective.
