35 Mangaluru youths deprived salaries, food in Kuwait; calls for help from Media, political leaders

Kuwait: As many as 200 Indian including 35 people from Mangaluru are fighting for their survival in the gulf nation of Kuwait after they were trapped by a recruiting agency in Mangaluru and were sent to Kuwait on the promise of lucrative jobs, but as it turned out they have not been paid their salaries from last six months and to make things worse, their employer has now stopped giving them food and daily essentials.

 


At least 29 inmates killed in clashes at Venezuela jail

At least 29 prisoners were killed and 19 police wounded in clashes at a jail in western Venezuela Friday, authorities said.

The ncident at the police station jail in the town of Acarigua, in Portuguesa state, occurred when police special forces (FAES) tried to stop a "massive prison break" which resulted in the deaths of 29 inmates, according to Portuguesa public security secretary Oscar Valero.
