A mob pelted stones at religious places over the issue of bursting fire crackers at Adyar Padav in Kankanady police station limit here on Tuesday evening, May 15.

Though Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was denying the anti-incumbency factor influencing this election, 17 ministers of the Congress government bit the dust in the election held for Karnataka assembly.

All eyes were on the Shikaripur constituency where BJP’s CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa has contested in this Assembly election. 

Another constituency which was the centre of attraction was Shivamogga urban, where former deputy chief minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council KS Eshwarappa won against sitting MLA KB Prasanna Kumar of Congress with a huge margin of 46,107 votes. Eshwarappa got 104027 votes, while Prasanna Kumar got 57920 votes.

Constituencies like Kolara, Srinivasapura, Koratagere, Mangaluru, Shantinagar and others have witnessed a surprise results in the election held to the Karnataka Assembly.

Twelve persons were killed and more than 50 feared trapped as an under construction flyover collapsed on Tuesday in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an official said.
