All eyes were on the Shikaripur constituency where BJP’s CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa has contested in this Assembly election. 

Another constituency which was the centre of attraction was Shivamogga urban, where former deputy chief minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council KS Eshwarappa won against sitting MLA KB Prasanna Kumar of Congress with a huge margin of 46,107 votes. Eshwarappa got 104027 votes, while Prasanna Kumar got 57920 votes.

Siddaramaiah said that the Congress has already informed Deve Gowda about supporting the JDS. Even they have met Kumaraswamy and handed over a letter on extending their support to JDS, the leaders of which have also accepted, he added.
