Koppala, June 24: Two workers died of electrocution and three others sustained burn injuries when they came in contact with the live wire while working on an electric pole at Hirebenakal village in Gangavati taluk in the district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Hanumanthappa Ganji (40) and Mehabood Saab (28) of Venkatagiri village. It is said that they were working at the electric pole on the land belonging to Subbarao of Hirebenakal village. Locals alleged that two persons have lost their precious lives due to the negligence of the power company officials. A case was registered at Gangavati rural police station.
