Udupi: A motorbike rider, aged 22 years old, was grievously injured and died on the spot after his bike rammed into the divider on the National Highway near Kota in Brahmavar taluk a little past midnight on Monday.

Vikas Acharya, a resident of Manuru in Kota, was riding from Sastana to Manuru on Monday night, when he lost control over the motorbike near Kota and the two-wheeler collided with the road divider. As the bike toppled due to the impact of the collision, Vikas was seriously injured and died on the spot.

A case has been filed by the Kota Police, who are investigating the incident.
