Attempt to outrage GP member: Accused held
Puttur, September 24: The police arrested an aged person on charges of outraging Badagannur grama panchayat member and ASHA worker at Dembale in the taluk on Sunday. The accused was produced before the court which remanded him to judicial custody.
The accused is identified as Muhammad Kunhi (68) of Dembale in Paduvannutu village. On September 20, the accused had tried to sexually harass the victim and fled the scene after the incident, according to a complaint lodged in the police station. Later, the gram panchayat held an emergency meeting which urged the authorities to arrest the accused immediately.
On Sunday night, the police traced the accused and produced him before the judge who remanded him to the judicial custody.

US–Iran first round direct talks conclude in Islamabad: Report

The first round of direct talks between the United States and Iran, held in Islamabad, has concluded, Al Jazeera reported citing sources close to the development.
According to the report, following the discussions, delegations from both sides agreed to exchange written documents, a move aimed at ensuring clarity and consensus on the understandings reached during the meeting.
Both the Iranian and US delegations arrived in Islamabad on Saturday, April 11, amid high security for the peace talks.
