Mangaluru, September 24: The First Additional District and Sessions Court on Monday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of four suspected accused from Sullia in the Gauri Lankesh murder case.

The SIT officials have served notice to Mohan from Chantala, Yathish M. from Donitalla Mogra, Yathin B. from Kollamogra and Kumudakshari of Jalumane to appear before them for interrogation on July 27. Fearing the arrest, all the four have filed anticipatory bail applications before the court on August 7.

But the public prosecutor Raju Poojary objected to the bail for the suspected as the SIT has been investigating the case and charge sheets were also filed against some of the accused. At this, the court should not accept the anticipatory bail application of the suspected, he argued.

But advocate S.P Chengappa appearing for the accused argued that the court could hear the arguments and grant the anticipatory bail. After hearing the argument, judge Sharada B. rejected the application on Monday.
