Mangaluru: In another major transfer in the police department of Mangaluru city, after transfer of Commissioner TR Suresh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Uma Prashanth was transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the city.

She will take charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Anti Corruption Bureau Mangaluru.

Uma Prashanth, carved a reputation for herself of ‘tough cop’ or ‘lady Singham’, while working fearlessly under the supervision of now transferred Police Commissioner TR Suresh, and DCP (Law and order) Hanumantharaya.

The trio formed a formidable team, and took several mafias including the drugs mafia of the city head-on, they were successful in bringing the drug peddling rate down in the city.

With two of the three members of the ‘formidable team’ now transferred, it will be interesting to see how the new team under new Commissioner Sandeep Patil keeps the crime rate and law and order of the city under check.

New Commissioner Sandeep Patil, however, made it clear soon after taking the charge that fighting drugs mafia of the city will be one of his top priorities.
