Mangaluru, July 15: Though 13 km length of Shiradi Ghat road on National Highway 75 from Kempuhole to Addahole was declared open for traffic movement on Sunday, movement of heavy vehicles like bus and trucks is restricted for fifteen days till the dangerous spots identified on the developed road are repaired.

Mnister UT Khader, who directed the contractor to complete the repair works within next fifteen days, said that two-wheelers, car, rickshaw, mini bus, tempo travelers and other small vehicles could ply on the road. Normally, accidents would happen due to reckless and speed driving. Since it was the ghat section, such incidents were common. It was planned to install CCTV cameras to keep a vigil on speeding vehicles and avoid and respond to accidents, he said.

MLAs to meet

The MLAs of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts would meet at Circuit House here on July 16 at 1.30 pm to discuss on the development of national highways and PWD roads. PWD officials would also participate in the meeting, the Minister said.
