Mangaluru:  Westline Builders , which is building the proposed tallest tower in South India at Nanthoor Junction in Mangaluru has imported the sophisticated construction formwork technology from South Korea recently. This enables the firm to build a super fast construction at a very high-quality finish, a release from the company said.

The most important aspect of a successful structural construction is the formwork system. To ensure best quality and fast completion, we have imported formworks from a wellknown South Korean company Kumkang Kind. It is one of the major manufacturer of aluminium formwork across the world and is known for their highest construction standards which ensures the most trustful, secure, efficient and cutting edge of formwork system technology available on the market, said Nasir Mohideen, MD of Westline Builders to Vartha Bharati.

Mr Nasir explained this modern form of construction, " these aluminium formworks are made of high strength aluminium extrusion which, compared with the conventional formwork allows large but lightweight panels. This Formwork produces an unbeatable concrete finishing, lesser number of joints thereby reducing the leakages and enhancing the durability. The Shear Wall technology with complete Raft foundation and the box type construction provides more seismic resistance to the structure. Also strong built up of concrete needs no maintenance."

Mr Nasir Mohideen added  "this form of construction is widely used overseas especially in high rise structures. In India, it is catching up but due to high costs of import, it deters the builders from implementing. So its the fight between the cost over speed and quality. This methodology of construction allows a single pour of wall, beam, column, slab and staircases. Furthermore, the prop-head system will allow dismantling the slab panels without removing the props. Thus, achieving unsurpassed construction speed due to the light weight of forms and monolithic construction methodology for concreting. In the case of our project, Westline Signature, around 2.5 to 3 typical floors per month is planned to achieve. The structural work in these floors shall finish at once and up to 95% including clean surface walls which surpasses plastering finishes. Imagine it as a huge mould for the entire floor"

Further, he added "The advantage of Westline Signature over similar types of aluminium for work constructions is that in here you can easily merge flats on sides as well as top or bottom. That's mostly absent in similar constructions"

Westline Signature is the proposed tallest tower in South India and has obtained all government approvals including RERA. The project has received accolades from construction fraternity and is deemed a feather in the hat for the prospective gauge of the city.

New Delhi (PTI): The Congress Working Committee met here on Friday and adopted a resolution alleging the integrity of the entire electoral process was being severely compromised against which the party would soon launch a movement.

In the resolution of the top body of the Congress, the party said free and fair elections is a Constitutional mandate that was being called into "serious question by the partisan functioning of the Election Commission".

The CWC, which met amid the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, said the session has been a washout so far because of the Narendra Modi government's "stubborn refusal" to have an immediate discussion on three pressing national issues -- "the recent revelations regarding corruption by a business group, and the violence in Manipur and Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal".

Asked why the Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolution does not name the business group, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, "The answer is the Adani group".

"The CWC believes the integrity of the entire electoral process is being severely compromised. Free and fair elections is a Constitutional mandate that is being called into serious question by the partisan functioning of the Election Commission.

"Increasing sections of society are becoming frustrated and deeply apprehensive. The Congress will take these up these public concerns as a national movement," the resolution stated.

Addressing a joint press conference along with Ramesh and Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, party general secretary, organisation, K C Venugopal said the party discussed the political situation in the country for four-and-half hours and adopted the resolution.

He said the CWC has decided to constitute internal committees to look into electoral performance and organisational matters.

About the Assembly polls results in Maharashtra, Venugopal said the electoral outcome in the state was "beyond normal understanding and it appears to be a clear case of targeted manipulation".
