Mangaluru: According to a report by The News Minute, an FIR registered against Chandru Moger, the coordinator of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, regarding a hate speech incident from 2022 has been transferred from Bengaluru to Mangaluru. The transfer took place on May 17 when the Sanjay Nagar police in Bengaluru handed over the case files to the Urwa Police Station in Mangaluru for further investigation. The investigation revealed that the hate speech video originated from a Sanatan Sanstha office in Mangaluru.

Belthangady: The Belthangady Mahila Congress rural unit has lodged a formal police complaint seeking action against Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja for his controversial remarks about Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Poonja allegedly made the contentious statement during a felicitation program organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Kinyamma Yane Gunavati Amma Hall in Belthangadi on May 22.

Mangaluru: In a case of suspected food poisoning, over 30 students of a private nursing college in Mangaluru were hospitalised due to food poisoning. Most of them were treated in the hospital and sent back to the hostel on Monday, sources said.
