An attempt to transport cattle in an insulated vehicle designed for carrying fish came to light after the vehicle, being driven at high speed, toppled near Karikatte in Shiroor on Thursday night.

Three men from Kerala, Nisar, Sahil KP and Muhammad Nashath, were arrested by Kavoor Police for alleged involvement in two separate cases of cyber crime with money extortion reported in the city.

Puttur: The Puttur 5th District Additional and Sessions Court has sentenced Muhammad Musthafa, also known as Musthafa Sheikh, a resident of Vidyapura in Kabaka village, to three years of imprisonment along with a fine of ₹20,000 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
