Protests continue in Mangaluru: Tear gas used to control situation

As the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act intensified in Mangaluru, police busted tear gas to bring the situation under control.

Mangaluru: Dr. PS Harsha, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner on Wednesday added that no organisation, political party or other entities will be allowed to organise or hold protests in the city on December 19-20. The Police Commissioner had earlier in the day imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC starting 9:00 pm on Wednesday till midnight of December 20.

Mangaluru: Dr. PS Harsha, City Police Commissioner on Wednesday imposed prohibitory orders in the City Police’s limits under section 144 of CrPC till December 20 midnight. The orders have been issued in the backdrop of protests and demonstrations planned by various organisations and political parties against the Citizenship Amendment Bill and NRC passed by Central Government.

 

Two killed in road mishap at Vittal
