The last rites  of Deepak Rao who was brutally murdered at Katipalla on January 3, Wednesday were held at the Hindu crematorium at Katipalla Janatha Colony on the afternoon of January 4, Thursday.

The Sangh Parivar activists literally resorted to Goondaism  at the Manasa Water Park at Pilikula Nisargadhama on the outskirts of the city on January 2, Tuesday by  intercepting students  of a college who were enjoying a picnic and even  assaulted one of the girls right in the presence of the police.

An incident wherein Sangh Parivar activists assaulted a  young woman right in the presence of the police, has been reported from Pilikula Nisargadhama near Vamanjoor on the outskirts of the city on January 2, Tuesday.

Mangaluru, December 17:  As a part of Oil and Gas Conservation month program -  Saksham, a Cyclothon, cycle rally was organized by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) at Mangalore on Sunday. The cycle rally was flagged off in the morning by  Nalin Kumar Kateel,  MP, D.K. District, and  J.R.Lobo,  MLA Mangaluru South.

Uttara Kannada District police has on Thursday suo motu registered a case against Udupi Chikmagalur Member of Parliament Shobha Karandlaje for provocation with intent to cause riot , promoting enmity between different groups and publishing statement creating or promoting enimity , hatred.
