Bengaluru, September 23: Congress candidates M.C. Venugopal and Naseer Ahmed filed their nomination papers for the two positions to be nominated by the Legislative Assembly, here on Monday.

Speaking to reporters later, DCM Dr. G. Parameshwar said that nomination papers were filed for the two positions. They would be elected in the elections to be held on October 4. Though the BJP has 104 seats in the Assembly, there was no clarity on fielding any candidate. Even if they fielded any candidates, it was sure that the Congress candidates would win the polls, he added.

Ministers D.K. Shivakumar, Krishna Byre Gowda, Priyanka Kharge, KPCC Working President Eshwar Khandre and other leaders were there while filing nomination papers.
