Bengaluru, Jan 18: “I have never before seen such a big liar like Prime Minister Narendra Modi in my political career”, said former chief minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking at the programme at the Palace Ground here on Friday, Siddaramaiah said that Narendra Modi who was rewarded as a big liar had become the prime minister of the country which is an insult to the people.

The world knew that PM Modi words and deeds were different. Even then, he has not given up false promises and false propaganda. Before his false propaganda would reach the people, the Congress workers and leaders should educate the anti-people policies of the Modi government, he appealed.

“RSS, BJP and Sangh Parivar organizations are dangerous to the country. In their history, these organizations have never done a single pro-people work. They have been creating communal clash by sowing seeds of castes and religions through which, they are trying to get power. Such a communal BJP should not come to power once again”, Siddaramaiah said.

“By cutting the job opportunities of youth in the country, the central government has increased the unemployment problem. At this time, it has introduced 10 per cent reservation to upper caste poor people. How can it give jobs to that 10 per cent people? This is another false promise”.

-Siddaramaiah, Former Chief Minister

Appeal to come together against BJP

Thousands of Congress workers, leaders, Ministers, MLAs, MPs, parliamentary secretaries and others came together on a single stage and opposed the central government’s anti-people’s policy.

The leaders were of the opinion that both Congress and JDS combine should win all the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state, for which, the workers should reach every household and educate the people against the Rafale deal, looting of money in the name of Fasal Bima insurance scheme by the corporate companies, unemployment, demonetisation, GST impact on common people and others.

Bengaluru: An Inspector of the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE) has alleged that Dalit officers are facing harassment from senior officials within the department that is meant to handle cases of atrocities against SC/ST communities.

Inspector T.R. Srinivas has made the allegations in a letter addressed to DCRE Director General of Police Umesh Kumar, which he has also shared with the media. He has also released a video reiterating the claims.

In the video, Srinivas has named DCRE SP Karibasangouda and DySP Maheshwaragouda, alleging that he was pressured to act in favour of upper-caste accused in certain cases. He further claimed that false complaints were accepted against him and he was harassed in the name of inquiry.

Srinivas also alleged that he was not officially relieved from duty in DCRE, but that SP Karibasangouda and DySP Maheshwaragouda created “fake documents” showing that he had been relieved, which he said was in violation of an order of the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT).

He said he had served for 20 years without any adverse remarks, but is now being targeted. “Working for Dalits and serving in the police department itself seems to have become a mistake,” he said, adding that Dalit officers are not receiving protection in the state.

He also alleged lack of transparency in the department and claimed that decisions are being dominated by upper-caste officials. In the video, he appealed to the government to intervene and prevent any untoward incident, warning that if the situation continues, responsibility would lie with the Chief Minister, Home Minister and the DGP.

Srinivas had been transferred from the DCRE last month, but had obtained a stay on the transfer from the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal.

Meanwhile, DCRE SP Karibasangouda has denied the allegations made by Srinivas.
