The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned to July 14 the hearing on CBI's plea that challenged a Karnataka High Court order granting an interim stay on the probe into a disproportionate assets case against Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D K Shivakumar.

Karnataka High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the Karnataka Government and the Department for Public Instructions, after hearing a PIL against the shifting of the pre-university college in Kanakuppe village of Tumakuru district to Hebbur.

Minister in the outgoing BJP government K Sudhakar on Wednesday questioned former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah whether he can deny the fact that he had no role, ''implicitly or explicitly'', in the move by Congress MLAs to quit the party when the coalition government was in office in 2019.

Bengaluru: A viral photo circulating on WhatsApp and Twitter claims that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted a thanking message to the people of Karnataka for electing the Congress party in the Karnataka Assembly elections. The tweet allegedly stated that he hoped Congress, along with the SDPI, would work towards strengthening Islam in India and the sovereignty of Karnataka. However, a fact-check investigation has confirmed that the claims are false, and Shehbaz Sharif did not post the tweet from his official handle.
