Former Union Minister R L Jalappa passes away

Veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister R L Jalappa died at a hospital in Kolar on Friday. He was 96 and was suffering from age related ailments including kidney and lung issues, family and R L Jalappa Hospital sources said.


Proposed Karnataka anti-conversion bill: up to 10 years imprisonment and a max Rs one lakh fine

The proposed anti-conversion bill, which the BJP government in Karnataka intends to introduce in the ongoing Legislature session here, has a provision for imprisonment of those who indulge in mass conversion from three to 10 years and a fine of Rs one lakh.
