Counting of votes is under way for the biennial election to the Karnataka Legislative Council's 25 seats from 20 Local Authorities' constituencies on Tuesday, the results of which will have a bearing on the power equation in the Upper House of the State Legislature.

Former Chief Minister, Leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah said, “The Anti-conversion law is not required now. Attempt to implement this law is being done to target one community. This is being done to needlessly harass them. The BJP has come forward to table this bill out political ill-will”, he said. 

Belagavi: Karnataka Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri on Sunday said he would explore the possibility of earmarking two days exclusively to discuss issues in north Karnataka region during the 10-day legislature session which starts on Monday.
