Madikeri: Hunter shot dead

A 31-year-old youth, who had gone for hunting, has been shot dead at Yemmetalu near here on last night.

The dead has been identified as Yemmetalu resident Ranjit. The previous night, he had gone for hunting. It has been suspected that one Dinesh, a resident of the same village, may have mistaken him for a deer and shot at him. Following which, Ranjit succumbed to injuries on the spot.


Bengaluru: Woman denied house on rent for being Muslim

A Muslim woman has accused two house owners of discrimination on the basis of her religion in the state capital. The woman has complained that two Bengaluru-based landlords allegedly refused to rent out their premises to her family when they got to know that she is a Muslim.
