The Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) has announced the recipients of the KUWJ Endowment Fund Awards. BM Bashir, News Editor of 'Varthabharati', has been honored with the 'Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Award', while Sanath Kumar Belagali, a columnist of Vartabharati, has been awarded the 'Dr. M. M. Kalaburgi Award'.

The Election Commission has issued a notification for the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, with 14 constituencies set for polling in the first phase. The nomination process begins today, March 28, and the last day for submission of nomination papers is April 4. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 5, and candidates can withdraw their nominations until April 8. Voting will be held on April 26, with results expected on June 4.

Hubballi: A few Lingayat seers in the region met here on Wednesday and asked the BJP central leadership to change the party's Dharwad Lok Sabha candidate Prahlad Joshi, Fakira Dingaleshwar Swamiji of Shirahatti-Balehosur said.
