Following allegations by a section of farmers from Vijayapura district that their lands were marked as Waqf properties, Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil on Monday said the notices issued to them will be withdrawn, and the Deputy Commissioner is inquiring into the "mistake."

Justice KS Puttaswamy, former Karnataka High Court judge and lead petitioner in the historic right to privacy case, passed away at 98 at his residence in Bengaluru. A prominent legal figure, he was instrumental in establishing the right to privacy as a fundamental right under Article 21 of the Indian Constitution through his petition before the Supreme Court.

Justice Siddaiah Rachaiah was officially sworn in as a permanent judge of the Karnataka High Court. The Centre had previously notified his appointment, transitioning him from his role as an additional judge.
