Karnataka introduces Bill proposing three-year jail, penalty for social boycotting

The Karnataka government on Thursday introduced a Bill in the Assembly to prohibit and criminalise social boycott, especially those imposed by self-appointed caste panchayats, with a jail term of up to three years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh, Deccan Herald reported.


Five cases of KFD infection reported in Shivamogga district; one in Chikkamagaluru

Cases of the Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) are being reported in the district, according to the Health Department, with five residents of Billodi village, Hosanagara taluk, reportedly being infected with the virus.
