Bengaluru, Nov 27 (PTI): Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Thursday expressed confidence that the Congress high command should be able to resolve the ongoing power tussle in the state for the Chief Minister's post in a week's time.

Karnataka Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha on Thursday warned the Congress high command that it will fight vehemently if injustice happens to Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who is aspiring to become CM.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced on Wednesday that the Karnataka government plans to reintroduce student elections in the state, which were banned in 1989 following incidents of violence.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested a couple from Mysuru in connection with a major racket involving the sale of adulterated ghee under the Nandini brand. The couple, identified as Shivakumar and his wife Ramya, were allegedly running a high-tech illegal manufacturing unit in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu.

 In the midst of an ongoing power tussle within Karnataka’s Congress government, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has sparked fresh speculation with a cryptic social media post, highlighting the importance of keeping one’s word amid rising tensions over the state’s leadership.

Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Wednesday said Chief Minister Siddramaiah has asked the Congress High Command to clear the air at the earliest on the issue of leadership change in the state.
