Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Saturday ruled that while the manifesto released by the state Congress during the 2023 assembly elections can be criticized for wrong policies, it cannot be deemed as corruption under the Representation of People Act.

Hubballi: Fakira Dingaleshwara Swami, the pontiff of the Shirahatti Mutt, who recently withdrew his nomination as an Independent candidate from the Dharwad constituency, has renewed his criticism of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, accusing him of employing divisive tactics and oppressing the Veerashaiva-Lingayat community.

Bengaluru: The Election Commission said on Saturday that re-polling will be conducted at a polling station in Hanur which falls under Chamarajanagar Parlimentary Constituency in Karnataka on April 29.

 Addressing the media, Forest, Biology, and Environment Minister Eshwara Khandre said that the allocation of Rs 3454 crore towards relief efforts, comes as a result of the state government's persistent efforts, including legal action in the Supreme Court.

Officials from the Income Tax Department in Kalaburagi intercepted a car near the railway station this morning, seizing a reported sum of ₹2 crore. The vehicle in question allegedly belonged to a former mayor.

In a press conference held in Kalaburagi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah voiced strong dissatisfaction with the central government's allocation of drought relief funds. Expressing dismay, he stated that the compensation provided by the central government falls drastically short of the requested amount.
