Karnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil on Sunday asserted that there is no irregularity in the state government's decision to execute the sale deed of 3,666 acres of land in Ballari district to Jindal Steel.

Economic Offences Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a couple for allegedly defrauding several individuals by renting houses in the city and then leasing the same houses to others.

The Gandasi police have arrested a couple involved in a case where they allegedly killed a beggar and staged a road accident to fraudulently claim life insurance. The accused, identified as Munishamigowda and Shilpa Rani from Chikkakoliga village in Hosakote taluk, were arrested after the discovery of the plot.
