Facebook shielding far-right activists, under-age accounts: Report

Moderators at Facebook are protecting far-right activists, preventing their Pages from being deleted even after they violate the rules set up by the social media giant, the media reported.

The process called "shielded review" was uncovered by Channel 4 Dispatches - a documentary series that sent an undercover reporter to work as a content moderator in a Dublin-based Facebook contractor.


Facebook fails to stop users from sharing pirated movies

Several Facebook groups are sharing pirated Hollywood movies to hundred of thousands of users and the social media giant's automated software are unable to stop copyright infringements, the media reported.

Following US indictments, Twitter bans Russia-linked accounts

In response to the US' indictment of 12 Russian military intelligence officers for hacking into the Democrats' emails during the 2016 presidential campaign, Twitter has banned accounts for both Moscow-linked DCLeaks and Guccifer 2.0.

They were "connected to a network of accounts" that had already been shut down for violating rules, a Twitter spokesperson told Engadget of the suspensions on Saturday.
